Dr Nichola Rumsey represented Triskelion to help the European Cleft Association with the promotion, being the former head of the centre for appearance research in Bristol.
We had an enthusiastic group of 11 participants comprising health professionals, a patient representative and an EU Erasmus+ project manager from the Dutch national agency . Medical centres represented were Utrecht MC, Amsterdam MC, Nijmegen MC and Rotterdam MC so an excellent spread with surgery, psychology and nursing represented as well has health administrators.
The day was very interactive with lots of discussion and ended with the group trying to develop a mini campaign around a made up scenario of face discrimination in the workplace which they really enjoyed.
We were also delighted to learn, on the day itself, that the training had been awarded 4 Continuing Medical Education (CME) points by the European Accreditation Council on CME (EACCME) based in Brussels. This means they have accepted it as an accredited training event. Registration for this was complicated and we are delighted that the EACCME has seen the huge value in this type of training which goes well beyond traditional medical training.
Feedback was excellent with an overall score of 3.65 out ot 4 for all topics covered.
