Face Equality Training featured in South African healthcare course for cleft and craniofacial care

A key component of the Face Equality Training has been integrated into a new online course, Transformative Care Strategies for Visible Differences: Addressing Body Image and Health Determinants,  specifically designed for healthcare workers involved in the care of individuals with cleft lip, palate, and craniofacial conditions. This course was part of the “South African Comprehensive Cleft Care Workshop (CCCW)” in 2024,  which provided emerging and intermediate healthcare providers with the opportunity to gain essential knowledge and develop competency in cleft care.

By incorporating the Face Equality Training, the course equips healthcare professionals to not only address the medical needs of patients but also to consider the psychosocial and body image challenges faced by individuals with visible differences. This holistic approach promotes better care outcomes and empowers healthcare workers to deliver more compassionate and inclusive care.

The next workshop is in Colombia in October 2025
